    • Be prepared to introduce your partner and discuss your writing in whole group. 
  • Read: James Porter, “Intertextuality and the Discourse Community” 
    • Jigsaw reading: You will work in two separate groups today. The first group will have a section of the article to read, annotate, and summarize. In your second group, you will combine your summaries with your new group members' in order to determine the main ideas and themes of the entire article.
    • Objective: Define "discourse," "intertextuality," and "discourse community"
